Atlie Doucet

I am a multi-sport athlete in softball, volleyball, and track, but as I enter my freshman year of high school, I have recently stepped away from club volleyball to focus more on softball and track.

What makes me unique is my goofy, fun personality and my ability to get along with almost everyone I meet. My goal is to earn a softball scholarship so I can continue playing the game I love beyond high school while also helping ease the financial burden of attending college.

Throughout my travel ball career, I have been blessed to be surrounded by teammates, coaches, and parents who believe in me and hold me to the standard they know I am capable of reaching. My hope is to play for a college program that offers that same type of family atmosphere, because that support has been a huge part of why I love softball so much.

I believe I would be a valuable asset to any college program because of my athleticism, my determination to keep improving, and my personality that brings joy and encouragement to those around me. My dad always tells me, “Keep being the sunshine that breaks up the rainstorm. That’s who you are, and that’s who you need to be.” I try to live by that by cheering up my teammates when things are not going their way, because I know how it feels to struggle or feel like nothing is going right.

Another quote from my dad that has stuck with me is, “Frustration is just a negative outburst when we fail to control our emotions.” I work hard not to let my emotions negatively affect my teammates, because I know my response can influence their response. Aside from my pitching, I feel my greatest contribution to my team is the positive energy I bring to the field and the dugout.
