About Brooklyn
I’m Brooklyn, and I’m almost 14 years old. I live in Alaska, where life is full of soccer and some pretty cool adventures! My family has a remote hunting cabin in the mountains, and we love exploring Alaska by plane and boat. Growing up this way has taught me to be tough, try new things, and keep going even when things get hard.
Soccer is my favorite sport, and I love to compete! I play competitive club soccer and have also gotten to play with Rush Select regional and national teams, along with Alaska ODP and western regional ODP camps. I’ve met some awesome teammates and played against really talented players who push me to get better. My mom played college soccer at USC, and hearing her stories and learning from her experiences has made me even more excited to play in college someday.
My main position is the 6, but I’m also comfortable playing the 4, 5, or 8. I’m 5’8” and love being a strong defensive presence while also helping my team build the attack. One of my favorite parts of playing midfield is connecting my defenders with my attacking players and finding ways to create opportunities. I love setting up my teammates for goals, but I’m also not afraid to take a shot from outside the box. I take corners and set pieces for my teams and am often chosen to captain the teams I’m a part of, which is something I’m really proud of. I enjoy being a leader and helping bring out the best in my teammates.
I’m also a multi-sport athlete and play basketball, volleyball, cross country, track, and flag football. I love staying active and competing in different sports, and I think they’ve all helped me become a better soccer player.
My biggest goal is to play college soccer and get a great education. I’m not sure exactly what I want to be when I grow up, but I know I want to do something that helps people. Being part of National Junior Honor Society and doing community service has shown me how much I enjoy giving back.
When I think about college, I want to find a place where I feel at home, make great friendships, and have coaches and teammates who push me to be my best. I’d bring a positive attitude, a competitive spirit, and a willingness to work hard and learn. I love being part of a team, cheering on my teammates, and doing whatever I can to help us succeed.
