About Christian

"A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work." - Colin Powell

This quote to me is not just motivational, it is a mindset I live by as I pursue my dream. A dream to play collegiate level soccer. I first started playing soccer at the age of 3. It was love at first kick. Every time I step on a pitch with a soccer ball, I get overjoyed. Now that I am older, soccer is no longer just a hobby or a passion. It is a way of life for me. I live, love, and breathe soccer. In all of my years of playing, I have learned 2 invaluable lessons. The first is to put in the unseen hours and wait for the results. Even though I want the results to come fast, I have learned to be patient and see the effect of the work I put in over time. The second is to not dwell on my mistakes. As a goalkeeper, you are bound to make a mistake. However, its how you handle it that separates you from the rest. Apart from the pitch, I value my academics highly because I believe that without a proper education succeeding in this world would be hard. My plan for academics is to continue striving for the best. I plan to continue excelling in school because it opens many doors and, unfortunately, I know I cannot play soccer forever. While on the pitch and in the classroom I have acquired two skills that set me apart from others like me, resilience and leadership. I have faced many obstacles in life, including my mother's health battles, so I know that I have the resilience and mental toughness for collegiate level soccer. My leadership on and off the pitch is another valuable asset I possess. I have played big leadership positions and I handled them well, so I believe that I have the necessary requirements to be a valuable member of your team.

As a young man focused and determined to make my dream a reality, I am prepared to put in the work both on the pitch and in the classroom. I will continue to learn from my mistakes to be a better player and to enjoy the process. Why play soccer if you do not enjoy it? I firmly believe that I have what it takes to not only do well, but excel at your program.

I am ready to take the next step and make my dream a reality.
