About Fern

Hi, my name is Fern Opalich. I’m a forward and attacking midfielder who values competing, creating chances, and contributing to team success. I’ve played club soccer for the past three years and continue to grow technically, tactically, and mentally as a player. During my most recent school season, I scored 36 goals in 11 games, reflecting my movement, timing, and understanding of space within the attacking third.

I take pride in my ability to stay composed in tight spaces, connect play, and create opportunities for teammates through smart decisions, quick turns, and purposeful passes. I enjoy being a reliable presence for my team and doing the work off the ball by pressing, making selfless runs, and staying engaged in every phase of the game

I’m a coachable and consistent player who takes development seriously. I work with a mental performance coach from the SUNY Oneonta women’s program and train one-on-one with an assistant coach from the SUNY Oneonta men’s team, focusing on decision-making, tempo, and skills that support team play. My goal is to play at the collegiate level in a program that values hard work, team culture, and development, where I can contribute right away and grow alongside my teammates.
