Grace Hummel

I am currently a sophomore and attend Northwest High school in Waukee, Iowa. I am a very competitive person who is always looking for ways to improve and succeed, whether that be in training or in a game. Academics are also important to me, and I plan on pursuing a nursing degree during college. Two values that guide me are work ethic and being coachable. I believe that hard work doesn’t guarantee success, but without it success is much harder to achieve. I try to bring the best version of myself to every training session, and take pride in my effort at practice.

One thing that sets me apart from other players is my versatility on the field. During my past high school and club season, I played every position besides goalkeeper. Playing in all of these positions has given me a greater understanding of the roles required of each one, and has taught me to adapt to what the game needs. I also take pride in my leadership ability. When I see my teammate make a mistake, especially during a game, I look to give them constructive feedback and encouragement instead of simply yelling at them.
