About Gunnar

Hello,

I am Gunnar DeRouen, a student-athlete who combines academic strength with a deep passion for soccer. Born on November 21, 2010, on the Yongsan Army military base in Seoul, South Korea, my unique background has shaped my resilient and adaptable character both on and off the field. Academically, I am committed to excellence, understanding that success requires discipline, focus, and a strong work ethic. I am always eager to improve and learn, pushing myself to reach new levels in both my studies and in soccer.

On the soccer field, I bring a competitive nature and a versatile skill set that allow me to excel as both a striker and a winger. My ability to adapt to different roles and tactical demands makes me a valuable asset to any team. I play with creativity, speed, and precision while embracing the defensive and teamwork responsibilities that help us succeed as a unit. Leadership and selflessness define my approach to the game. I lead by example through dedication, communication, and positivity, motivating my teammates to raise their standards. Whether setting up scoring opportunities or supporting my teammates in defense, I prioritize the success of the team over individual accolades.

I am also committed to community engagement, recognizing the importance of giving back and using my platform as an athlete to inspire others. Being a well-rounded individual academically, athletically, and socially is something I take great pride in.
I believe my unique background, combined with my competitive spirit, leadership qualities, and willingness to continually improve, make me a distinctive and valuable addition to any college soccer program. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute my skills and character to a team that values excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
