Hyatt Lang

Danny Norris ( email: dnorris@bfcsaz.com, phone: +1 (623) 703-3487, relationship: Coach): I have had the unique honor of both coaching Hyatt and coaching against him. Hyatt is a young man who truly loves the sport of football, but more importantly embraces the process of improving. He gives the same effort on a Monday practice that he does on a Friday evening. Hyatt is a dynamic defender that has to be accounted for on every play! His God given talent is evident, but his persistence and work ethic is what sets him apart from his peers. Hyatt is committed to his own success and strives to make those around him better during the process.

Mark Duitsman ( email: mark.duitsman@gcsaz.org, phone: 4806991215, relationship: Other): Hyatt Lang demonstrates outstanding commitment and character as a student-athlete. Whether it be in competition, practice, or in a leadership role within our student body, Hyatt does everything with exceptional attitude and effort. He competes with a high motor and enthusiasm, bringing a unique combination of intensity and joy to the field. Simply put, Hyatt Lang is a difference-maker.

Talbott Behnken ( email: talbott.behnken@gcsaz.org, phone: (480)-699-1215, relationship: Other): Game plan changing impact. Watching Hyatt as a DE/Edge during his sophomore year, I saw his game impact immediately. So did opposing offensive coordinators. After several MONSTER games early in the season (sacks, TFL, hurries, disruptions), opposing teams began to game plan on how to double/triple team and set up blocking schemes to minimize the chaos and disruptions he causes. Several of our other defenders were able to flourish during this time--but the opponents scouted well and I could see a considerable shift in the mindset of accounting for Hyatt on each play.

He has a great motor. He's tenacious and relentless. He is very strong, but is a workhorse and will only get stronger and faster--to go with his strong and growing football aptitude. If he can stay healthy, the sky is the limit. On top of his on-the-field defense, he is a great leader, teammate, student and citizen.

Kaleb Powell ( email: kaleb.powell@gcsaz.org, phone: ‭(714) 350-4386‬, relationship: Teammate): hyatt is a very hard working, passionate player who leaves everything on the field everyday. he is also very coachable and understands the game very good. amazing man of God and awesome to be around

Devon Dickinson ( email: devon@devondickinson.com, phone: ‭+1 (928) 388-9009‬, relationship: Coach): "I witnessed Hyatt's tenacity and determination on the football field and approached him about playing goalkeeper for us this winter soccer season. Hyatt was immediately all ears as his desire to 'compete' is second to none. He explained that he had zero experience with soccer but would love to give it a try. He then proceeded to come out for some private 6AM training sessions and although inexperienced, he relished the chance to learn, grow, and compete. He started off the season as our 3 or 4th string varsity goalkeeper, but everyday Hyatt was first to practice and last to leave. He worked tirelessly. During practices when the other keepers walked away with clean shirts, Hyatt walked away muddied and his jersey dripping in sweat. By mid-year Hyatt earned the starting spot on the #1 ranked soccer team in Arizona 3A. Given Hyatt's attitude, leadership, enthusiasm, aggression, teachability, and work ethic, Hyatt is simply put a coach's dream"

Pete Heintz ( email: peter.heintz@gcsaz.org, phone: (262) 844-6844, relationship: Coach): Hyatt Lang is a great athlete that works hard to become a better player. He has a great "motor" whenever he is on the field. There have been many times that he makes a play from the back side because of his hustle. I appreciate his persistence, tenacity, and determination whenever he plays. Hyatt is not only a valuable member of our football team, but he is also a great member of our community: he is also a member of our soccer team, he is active in the student council, and he volunteers his time at his church. Hyatt is an outstanding individual, and I look forward to continuing to work with him.

John Carlson ( email: gilbertchristianfootball@gmail.com, phone: +1 (320) 282-1567, relationship: Coach):
"Hyatt Lang is a dynamic playmaker at the linebacker/edge rusher position who excels at making plays in the offensive backfield. Hyatt uses his length and physicality to overpower smaller linemen, and he uses his speed and athleticism to defeat bigger, slower linemen. Hyatt loves football, and even though he's got two years of starting varsity football experience, he just completed his Sophomore year. Hyatt's tremendous work ethic and commitment to the team are strong indications that he will continue to improve his football IQ and his playmaking ability. In his junior season, he will likely be a two way starter and a team leader. Hyatt has a bright football future ahead of him."
