About Jayla
I am currently a junior at Collinsville High School, where I am a three-sport athlete competing in soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Along with athletics, I take my academics seriously. I have been on the Honor Roll since grade school and have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher since middle school because I believe success in the classroom is just as important as success in sports.
I have played soccer since I was seven years old and have experience playing forward, midfield, and defense. Over the past two years, I have found my passion as a goalkeeper. During my freshman year, my coaches asked for volunteers to play goalie during practice. No one stepped up, so I volunteered, and I have loved the position ever since. I continue to train as a goalkeeper because I know there is always room to improve, and I am committed to becoming the best player I can be.
What makes me unique is my versatility, leadership, and willingness to do whatever my team needs. I currently serve as a captain for both my soccer and basketball teams and have earned awards such as Leadership, Most Improved, and Most Helpful. I enjoy encouraging my teammates, leading by example, and creating a positive environment both on and off the field. I am always willing to step outside of my comfort zone to help my team succeed.
My goal is to continue my athletic and academic career at the collegiate level while earning a nursing degree. I am looking for a college that values hard work, teamwork, accountability, and personal growth. I want to be part of a program that will challenge me to become a better athlete, student, and person.
I believe I can be an asset to any college program because I am coachable, hardworking, adaptable, and committed to improving every day. I bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and leadership to every team I join. My ability to play multiple positions gives coaches flexibility, and I am always willing to do whatever is needed to help my team succeed. I am excited for the opportunity to continue growing as both a student and an athlete at the next level.
