About Me
I was raised in a football family, my Dad coached me one year in high school and we won the regional championship (8-2), first time in school history. I was starting defensive tackle that year of my junior season. I transferred my senior year when all of the coaches left the school and I was unable to play because of the transfer rules. I practiced everyday and waited on the sidelines but never got on the field because of the AIA rules. I was selected my senior year of high school to be in the All-Star Indigenous Bowl in the NFL Vikings Stadium in Minneapolis. We won the game 33-16, I played center and defensive tackle during the bowl. My Dad, Derek Herring, is currently the head coach of girls flag football at Desert Vista High School 6A in Phoenix. I volunteer with Stars youth sports as an assistant youth flag football coach.
I am the finance officer on the board of our local Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I am also on the Presidents List for a 4.0 GPA last semester with 17 credits. I am in the honors program at Chandler Gilbert Community College. In 2024, I was honored to receive the 2024 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Living the Dream Award by Governor Hobbs of Arizona for my community service. I am the youngest person to ever receive this award. I was recently selected to go to the NCAA headquarters for the 2025 Native Athlete Summit in Indianapolis, Indiana. I have been blessed to be accepted to every university I have applied and offered to play at seven. My goal is to play football for a competitive team with a good academic track record. I am a multi-sport athlete, in high school I participated in football, basketball, wrestling and track. I can play all positions on the OL including center and long snapper. I transitioned from DL during high school. Junior year I started at DT and we won the 5A region championship (8-2) first time in the school history. Senior year I was selected for the 2022 All-Star Indigenous Bowl played center and DT, both sides of the ball. We won the bowl game in the NFL Vikings stadium 33-16. In 2023, I started as a freshman on the offensive line as a guard and special teams for the Arizona JUCO Maricopa Mustangs. We were the 2023 league champions (7-1), first winning season and championship in the history of the team. I have at least 4yrs of eligibility and a red shirt year remaining.
