"Kate is a technically efficient player with a high soccer IQ. As an attacking player, she is able to influence the game with her ability to beat players on the dribble and break lanes with her passing skills. One of her greatest strengths is in transition, when her team wins or loses the ball, she quickly fulfills her role (1st, 2nd, or 3rd attacker/defender), which helps her have so much success on both sides of the ball. From a defensive standpoint, Kate does a good job of reading the game to pick off balls in passing lanes and is also a tenacious 1v1 defender. Most importantly, Kate is extremely driven, a great teammate, and eager to continue to grow as a player. She has all the attributes to help her have success in the right college program."

"It is with great pleasure and honor that I write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Kate Gardner, Class of 2026. I had the opportunity to be Kate’s Head Coach on her CT Northeast Rush Select Regional Team. I was immediately impressed by Kate’s “presence” when I first met her as incoming player. I found her to be wise and mature beyond her years. She has an amazing work ethic and more importantly, an accountability to herself and others, which propels her and her teammates to improve daily. Her technical skill set is exceptional, but what stands out most about her is her soccer IQ and read of the game as she always makes the correct play. She consistently places the “we” before the “me” and is the ultimate teammate and competitor. She is the definition of a selfless teammate. Quite simply, Kate is someone you build a team around and I have had players close to her caliber on two state championship soccer teams at the high school level. Finally, Kate seeks constructive criticism in order to accelerate her growth as a player and person. She was an absolute joy to coach and watch on the pitch."
