About Me

Hi , my name is Lola Downer and I’m a Senior at Vandebilt Catholic High School. I have always had a love for the game of soccer since I was four. I know God has given me a special gift and talent. I believe continuing to play soccer after high school in a college atmosphere would glorify God to the fullest. I am coachable and take feedback well. Outside of my sports teams I work with personal trainers weekly on lifting, speed, agility, plyometrics and recovery at Sports Performance. I am willing to do the extra things like nutrition and good sleep to make sure I'm my best. I'm 9 months post , 2 major hip surgeries due to a torn labrum in my hip. I am back playing full contact for my Academy Rush team and high school league. There have been no issues with my hip and my recovery. One thing I’m working to get back is my speed and I know that will come back with time. I have learned so much from the challenges that come with injury and the process of recovering. Grateful to be back on the field and able to run. My dream of playing in college has definitely had some bumps, but I have put the hard work in to be back playing even when the odds were against me. I know what it's like to work hard for something you love. I have played every position as an offensive player, but my favorite is attacking-mid. I am good at placing balls to forwards or wings do to my time playing forward. I’m a team player even when out with my surgeries I attended workouts and practices to be there for my teammates. I attend Youth Group DIVE at my local church, I believe my relationship with God is number one. I'm currently playing for my High team which I have committed to being a leader and helping younger players learn and enjoy the game. I was recently voted " COMEBACK" player of the Year by the Louisiana Soccer Association.
