Lyla DeLaCruz

First and most important, God is good and I would not be what I am if not for Him. My name is Lyla De La Cruz and I am a 2030 pitcher forTexas Blaze NTX National 2030- Lopez team out of the DFW area. I’m a competitive, hardworking athlete who is passionate about softball and committed to becoming the best pitcher and teammate I can be.

I consistently work to improve my game through training, practice, and competing against strong competition. I currently throw in the upper 50s to low 60s and have reached 63 mph, but I know that velocity is only one part of being a successful pitcher. I focus on command, movement, consistency, and learning how to compete in every situation.

I’m coachable, competitive, and willing to put in the work necessary to reach my goals. I love being on the field, competing with my teammates, and challenging myself to get better every day. I believe the best players are the ones who are willing to learn, work hard, and make the people around them better.

In academics, I understand that being a student athlete means working hard in the classroom as well as on the field. My long term goal is to continue my education while playing softball at the college level.

I’m excited to continue growing throughout my high school career and to build relationships with coaches and programs that value hard work, character, academics, development, and team success.

I’m just getting started, and I’m ready to see how far I can take this game.
