About Mackenzie

My name is Mackenzie Kassner and I will be graduating from Joel Barlow High School (Redding, CT) in 2027. I’m a captain and play club soccer for NY Westchester Rush. I play the 10 and the 7, but I am also comfortable as a holding / defensive midfielder. I’m a right foot dominant player but adept using my left. I have been a varsity letter winner since my freshman year of high school and will be a captain of my high school soccer team during my senior year. I also play futsal for the Hat City Futsal Club (Danbury, CT) and have competed in Regional tournaments in Boston and Atlantic City, making the semi-finals. I'm committed to being a coachable team player and committed to my academics. I am interested in a smaller school that offers a solid liberal arts education and a variety of majors. I feel my speed, grit, tactical and situational awareness in the attacking third would allow me to make an immediate impact and help teams compete for championships in the coming years. I'm a hard working student with a 4.4 GPA and member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. I am also a musician, playing first flute in the Barlow band as well as a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Additionally, I'm involved with my community and various clubs. I am a member of the Joel Barlow Eco-Club, Director of Competitive Events for the Future Business Leaders of America, and founding member & Co-President of the Connecting Through Music Club. In addition, I am the Treasurer for the Keystone Leadership Program of the Boys and Girls Club of Redding, CT.
