About Maddie

I am a versatile, team-first player with experience across the entire spine (ST, CM, CB) at the GA and varsity levels. I earned Honorable Mention All-Conference as a freshman at striker, finishing 3rd on the team in total points, before transitioning to a starting center back role my sophomore and junior seasons in both club and high school. I club I also have 8 goals from 40+ yards on free kicks along with corner kicks when needed.

As a junior this season, I helped lead my team to a third straight state tournament appearance and earned Iowa CIML All-Conference as the only underclassman at center back recognized in a large school conference where 5 of the 8 teams advanced to the state tournament – helping to set records for least goals allowed in a season in both my Sophomore and Junior seasons.

I’m a physical center back who uses my voice to communicate and organize on the field. I am comfortable being moved around the field where the team needs me to be, and a strength in helping younger players step into bigger roles. One of the best compliments I’ve received from my club coach is that while center back is my strongest position, I can be trusted to play anywhere on the field and never worries about where I am on the field. I also regularly have discussions coming off the field at halftime with our coaches on what I am seeing on the field and the adjustments that I think should be made, as well as I make sure to communicate the information to teammates too.

I see myself as a competitor and a fighter and feel like challenges are the best opportunities for growth. At the end of my sophomore high school season, I found out I had been playing through an injury that caused me to miss the following club season and sit out for a year. I pushed through recovery to return and started the entire high school season, playing around 85%, earning All-Conference honors and helping team return to the State Tournament.

I maintain a 4.02 GPA and take pride in being consistent, coachable, and a strong leader on and off the field. I’m looking for a program that values team and family, consistency, hard work, and an academic environment that will help me pursue my goals in PT or athletic training.
