About Madelyn

My name is Maddy Szczesny and I am a class of 2029 student at Daniel Hand High School. Yes, my academic achievements matter greatly to me, however soccer has been my main sport and passion for as long as I can remember. I am the captain of my club team and participated in my first season freshman year playing on the DHHS girls varsity soccer team playing in the central mid position. In school, I strive to keep my grades as high as possible while also doing what I can in terms of clubs and community service. Growing up being the oldest child, I never had a role model aside from my parents to look up to. It was my job to teach my two younger sisters to follow in my footsteps to work as hard as possible to get what they want. Being the youngest on the team allowed for the upperclassmen to step into the position to be my “older sisters”. I greatly valued this experience and being around these role models allowed me to participate to my fullest whether it was on the soccer field or in front of my own sisters. After high school I would like to play soccer in a college that has a good program and will also challenge me academically. As a teammate I will put my best foot forward both in practices, games, or locker rooms. Giving and receiving encouragement is what I most value in a team and is what I will plan on providing at all levels of play.
