Hayden Spencer

My name is Hayden, and I am a senior at Cooperstown Central School. Soccer has been a big part of my life for years and I am currently captain of my varsity soccer team. One thing that makes me unique is that my interests go beyond soccer. I enjoy creative writing and theater, and I am interested in possibly studying education, writing, or something related to theater in college.
One of my biggest goals is to continue playing soccer at the college level while also finding a school where I can grow academically and figure out what I want to pursue as a career. I am looking for a college that feels like a good fit both academically and socially, with a soccer program where the players are close, competitive, and push each other to improve.
As a player, I think I can contribute more than what I do on the field. Being a captain has taught me that leadership is not just about being one of the better players or being vocal during games. I try to make everyone feel like they are part of the team, especially younger players who may not have as much confidence yet. I work hard, take coaching seriously, and want to keep improving. I would bring that same attitude to a college program and try to be the kind of teammate that makes the entire team better.
