About Matea

My name is Matea Thibeault, I am a rising junior at Daniel Hand High School in Madison, Connecticut.

My passion for soccer started at the age of 3 and that was just the beginning. As a freshman, I made the varsity soccer team at my high school, and I've been a part of Connecticut Rush Select for the past 3 years. I train year-round, indoor and outdoor, and I also train with private trainers in the off-season. In addition, as a freshman, I started to run varsity track, which has helped my speed drastically improve and benefit me on the soccer field.

What sets me a part is my ability to always work harder with a positive attitude. Being competitive by nature, I am always looking for ways to improve my game while also motivating my teammates to do their best. I feel that a huge part of having success on the field is not just about yourself, it's about your entire team. I am committed to holding my team to a very high standard and I demonstrate that in my attitude on and off the field.

Although I am dedicated to playing wing, all of my coaches have played me in every position on the field in time of need. With that, I have found other positions in which I have found profound success, such as outside back and striker.

After high school, I hope to continue my soccer career at the college level. I am committed to constantly learning, growing, and finding success.
