Owen Smith

I have been playing soccer since I was five years old and have been playing on a Select team since I was nine. I currently play for U15 boys MLS NEXT the game has taught me the importance of hard work, discipline, teamwork and leadership. I primarily play center midfield, but I am a versatile player who is willing to play wherever my team needs me. I have played striker as well as right and left midfield. Running/stamina is one of my strengths, and it takes both to be successful in the midfield. Additionally, I have been team captain (voted by own teammates) for approximately five years, which has helped me develop strong leadership skills and understand the importance of setting a positive example for my teammates. Additionally, I was also the first 7th grader in my school district (Section 3) to be pulled up to the boy's junior varsity (JV) team. This accomplishment reflects my dedication to the game, strong work ethic and ability to compete against older players.
I am a hardworking, coachable player who is always looking to improve my game and learn from others. My goal is to continue to play at the collegiate level while earning a college degree. I am open to all college opportunities and more importantly, looking for a program where I can contribute to the team's success, continue to develop my skills and be part of a competitive team.
