About Ryan
Tell coaches about yourself My name is Ryan Blake, and I am a junior slot receiver at Santa Monica High School. I take pride in being a team-first player who works hard every day to improve. I believe every rep in practice matters, and I try to bring energy, focus, and accountability to everything I do. My Christian faith is very important to me and helps guide how I carry myself on and off the field.
What makes you unique? What makes me unique is my speed, field vision, and ability to move fluidly through traffic. As a slot receiver, I understand how to find space, create separation, and make plays after the catch. I am coachable, dependable, and willing to do whatever helps the team win. I make my bed every morning and have since I read the book "Make Your Bed" - U.S. Navy Four-Star Admiral William H. McRaven.
What are your goals? My goals are to keep developing as a football player, student, teammate, and leader. I want to play college football, earn my degree, and be part of a program where I can grow both on and off the field. I also want to continue building my discipline, character, and faith.
What are you looking for in a college? I am looking for a college with strong academics, a competitive football program, and coaches who care about developing players as athletes and young men. I want to be part of a team with high standards, a strong culture, and players who are committed to working hard and holding each other accountable.
How can you help their team/program? I can help a program with my speed, toughness, field vision, and team-first mindset. I am willing to compete, learn, and contribute wherever the coaches need me. I bring effort every day, I listen to coaching, and I believe my work ethic and attitude can help make the team better.
