About Sarah

My name is Sarah Smigal and I am currently a Sophomore at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, MD who has a real passion for soccer. I have been playing the sport since the age of four and have loved learning the game of soccer and growing alongside my teammates to become a skilled and accomplished player. I am a versatile student athlete who contributes strongly on both defense and offense. I have strong field awareness, quick transitions, and the ability to support my teammates in every part of the field. I excel at defensive positioning, ball control, and accurate passing.
Throughout the past several years I have loved being a part of my team, supporting my teammates, learning how to work together to accomplish goals, bonding and building strong friendships. I cherish the relationships I have made through soccer with both my teammates and coaches.
Off the field I am a dedicated student who focuses on my studies and challenges myself by taking several honors and IB courses. My other interests include skiing, swimming, pickleball, and volunteering with youth soccer teams and Happy Helpers for the Homeless of Baltimore. I have spent much time assisting my coaches with several youth soccer teams to help them with skill building drills and building a supportive environment.
My goal is to attend a college where I can be challenged both academically and athletically. I will bring dedication, hard work and zeal to the college team/program that I become a part of. I hope to find a college where I can grow as a student and an athlete who is prepared for a successful future.
