About Savanna
I’m Savanna Neal, a 2032 softball player for Texas Blaze Premier National, and I’m a catcher who also plays 3B and SS. I believe what makes me unique is not just the positions I can play, but the way I connect with the people around me and lead from wherever I am on the field.
As a catcher, one of the parts of the game I value most is my relationship with my pitcher. I want my pitcher to know that I have her back—through the big moments, the tough innings, and everything in between. I’m learning that being a great catcher means understanding your pitcher, communicating with her, building confidence, and helping her believe in herself. That connection is something I take seriously.
My versatility allows me to contribute wherever my team needs me, but leadership is what I want to be known for. I want to be the teammate who encourages others, communicates, works hard, accepts coaching, and leads by example. I understand that leadership isn’t just about having a voice—it is about being dependable, accountable, and willing to step up when your team needs you.
I’m working every day to become a better catcher, infielder, hitter, and teammate. I know I still have a lot to learn, and that motivates me. I want to continue playing at a high level while developing the discipline, confidence, communication, and leadership skills that will carry beyond softball.
My Goal
My goal is to play college softball for a program that will challenge me as an athlete, develop me as a leader, and prepare me for my future career in the medical field.
I’m drawn to the medical field because I want a career where I can use the same qualities I’m developing through softball—leadership, communication, compassion, focus, teamwork, and the ability to stay composed when others are counting on me.
I want to find a college program where I can grow both on the field and in the classroom, become the best version of myself, and ultimately use the leadership I develop through softball to make a difference in the lives of others.
I’m not just looking for a place to play softball. I’m looking for a program that will help me become the woman, leader, student, and future medical professional I want to be.
