Hi, I’m Sofia. I’m a Junior in High School (Class of 2026) at Oakwood School where I'm an A student (while taking advanced and honors classes whenever possible). I've earned a membership in the National Society of High School Scholars.
I have been on my High School's Varsity Volleyball Team since Freshman year as a 6-rotation outside hitter. This high school season, I was team captain and led our team to an undefeated season (only losing one set in league matches), becoming the division champions as well as making it to the quarterfinals in the CIF playoffs. I was awarded with All League for the 2024/25 season.
In Club Volleyball, I played at SG Elite on Rosh 14 and 15 and then 16 Excel as a Pin Hitter. This season I am proud to be playing in the starting lineup at CITY Volleyball on the 17 Gold team as a 6 rotation Pin Hitter.
Outside of playing, I feel my strongest attributes are my team spirit - I've been called "the heart of the team," which makes me feel great. I love seeing my teammates succeed on and off the court. I also consider my ability to be coachable and to take correction and direction some of my strong points.
I also enjoy modeling professionally when I get opportunities and volunteering my time for our local food bank as well as annually participating in the AIDS Walk. I have spent a lot of my free time coaching kids' volleyball and youth volleyball camps. I am a member of the Student Admissions Committee at my school. When I'm not doing any of those activities I'm studying to keep my grades up or hanging out with my friends, boyfriend or family. My best friend is my twin sister, who is an incredible singer and wants to pursue Musical Theatre. I also have a stepsister and stepbrother, two foster siblings, and we have 4 dogs in our household. As you can imagine, there is always something going on in our home. I look forward to growing and improving in my college years and am looking for a coach and team culture that cultivates that. I can’t wait to find my perfect match!

Since arriving on Oakwood's campus, Sofia’s presence, knowledge of the game, and desire to
be pushed has stood out from the rest of her peers. Sofia has been willing to step into a variety of different roles throughout each season, takes chances to improve her game, and continues to lead her teammates with her contagious positive energy. Even as a freshman on Varsity, her
teammates looked up to her. Over the course of two years, Sofia has continued to fine tune her game, plays club volleyball, plays at the beach, and takes every opportunity to level up her play.
Sofia is curious, inquisitive, and coachable, which makes coaching her exciting to witness her immediate application within the game. It’s players like Sofia that make coaching so fulfilling. She has one of the toughest serves to receive in our league, and has impressive court awareness, making her quite the threat offensively. She is hard working, kind, always motivated, and an incredible teammate. While her achievements on the court are already remarkable, off the court she excels academically and epitomizes what it means to be scholarly-athlete. I have no doubt in my mind that she will continue to be an outstanding student, a great teammate, and a reliable individual wherever she chooses to go.
