About Sophia

My name is Sophia Otto (B: LH - slapper and stationary; T: RH), and I am an outfielder and utility player. I attend Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, TX (Class of 2027) and play travel ball for Texas Blaze 16U Gold Futures - Bliss. It is important to me to be viewed as a student-athlete who accepts challenges and will follow through on commitments made to my teachers, coaches, and teammates.

Heading into my senior year, my focus will be on competing at the varsity level in softball and track. Continuing to grow both academically and athletically is a necessity so that I position myself the best I can for college admission consideration and to one-day compete at the next level on the field. As a player, I like to use my speed not only on offense but also on defense to track down anything hit my way in the outfield. On offense, I look to keep the defenses guessing and keeping pressure on them by putting the ball in play by slapping or hitting away.

I am a member of the National Honor Society while maintaining a 5.34 weighted GPA and 3.94 GPA. Through my junior year, I have completed six advanced/honors courses (English I and II, Geometry, Algebra II, Spanish III, and Precalculus) and three AP courses (World History-4/5, Biology, and English Language/Composition). As a senior, I am enrolled in AP Literature/Composition, AP Calculus A/B, and AP Environmental Science, as well economics, government, and two business related courses to help prepare me for my major in college.

My family and faith also play a huge part in my life as they both act as a support system. My parents come to all my games and stress putting maximum focus and effort into all I do. I am forever grateful for them and everything they do for me.

Thank you for taking time to read my personal statement.
