About Stella

My name is Stella Speed. I'm a sophomore at McFarland High School and a player for Rush Wisconsin. I am a hardworking and passionate goalkeeper with 6 years of experience in the position. I’ve developed strong skills like communication, determination, and leadership from playing with multiple different teams. My coaches have said that my best trait was ability to be coached. I was a captain in my 2023-2024 season, leading my team into the higher league. I've also played with Rush WI 2009 national girls team and Rush WI 2010 regional girls team. I've grown adaptable through these experiences. My coaches describe me as a dedicated and focused player who brings energy and composure to every match. Some of my proudest accomplishments this year include being invited to the International Rush Cup and earning the Rush Core Values Award, both of which reflect my commitment to growth, teamwork, and representing my club with pride.

Academically, I maintain a 3.719 GPA and my strengths are math and science with state testing placing me in the top 5% and 2% for my age. My pre-ACT scores were averaged at 24 and all my individual subject score were higher or equal to the expected levels for freshman. I’m currently enrolled in advanced math courses and participate in DECA, which have helped me develop strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. I’m excited to find a college that challenges me both academically and athletically. Balancing challenging classes, soccer, and clubs has taught me focus, discipline, and the importance of managing my time effectively.

Outside of soccer, I’m passionate about music. I play guitar, drums, and ukulele for fun. Music allows me to express creativity and balance the structure of competitive sports, school, and free time. I also like to pick up new hobbies often to give me a challenge and try something new. My friends would often describe me as energetic, smart, dedicated, and strong, and I take pride in leading through effort and example. I spend my time year-round playing soccer. It is my only sport, so I'm highly committed. My experiences socially, academically, and athletically have shaped me into a confident leader on and off the field. Whether I’m training, studying, or performing, I approach everything with determination, respect, and the drive to grow. As this is my first year playing at this level, I have made big strides and challenged myself to grow. I have an open mindset for growth and improvement.
