About Will

What makes me unique from other players is the way that I see the field, it's not a battleground or a playground, it's like a subject for me, just more fun in the way that I get to learn. Because of this, I have had successful seasons at 9, 10, winger, 8 and even 6. My coaches would say I'm a Scandinavian player -- cool, calm and collected -- and I keep the guys on the field in check. I am great at distributing the ball throughout my team during the game, great at possessing, I'm patient, but passionate. I communicate consistently and frequently, which helps us when where down, need to get more focused after scoring a goal, and even when were playing great. I also believe what sets me apart is how I carry myself. While I do believe that I am the best player on the field, I do in a way of showing respect to my team, my opponents, the game, and myself. One of my goals is to shoot more --as I have matured as a player, I have begun to shoot less and less because what my team needed was for me to organize the game, however, what I'm starting to see is that what I really need to do is just shoot, no matter if it goes in because it creates opportunities and momentum. Another goal is to lead my team to a state championship. This will be the first year I've played with grade level classmates, as I have always played with guys a year or so older. While I feel great pride for my club, I have loved the feeling of representing my school this year. A small but meaningful change I'd like to make is to check my shoulder more, when I'm caught up in a game the amount of times I check my shoulder can decrease, so one of my goals was to focus on checking my shoulder just three more times than I normally would each game. What I'm looking for in a college is a good community, a dedicated team, the opportunity to grow, challenge to push myself. I'm looking for a program where I can contribute, and ultimately that will help me become the man that can become a professional athlete. I just want to know that I made it, to experience one minute of one game, and then another, and then another. I will work and learn and work again until I can experience just one minute. To do this, I am going to need teammates that can help me at my darkest times with injury, mental aspects, etc., or push me when I'm at my best during the right times just not every time. I believe that the main impacts that I would have on a team/program would be mentality, persistence, gratitude, and joy.
